Roses are reddish, exam-takers more so: Cisco's test price hike's a smack to the torso | Latest News

Recommend those who take Cisco CCNA evaluations, which will have a 32% increase in rates this month without notice.

A reader contacted El Reg to report that they had noticed the increase, as they had to withhold a failed test this weekend. It costs £ 100 + VAT in January, but now it's € 132 + VAT when booked again.

He said: "I am a humble IT engineer working through his CCNA and realized that Cisco passed his examinations in early February."

He added: "Since I'm self-funded, it's a bit stomach in your pocket."

The price increases have not noticed elsewhere. Blogger Todd Lammle, who writes CCNA / CCNP / CCIE books, said the increase in the US.

He said: "Cisco, without warning or hoopla, increased its test prices and did not even send an email alert to customers."

A Cisco spokesman said: "Cisco continues to invest in the content and integrity of its certification and training program to support growing demand for qualified IT professionals.

"As a result, Cisco has adjusted the prices of some of its certification exams to adjust to this effort. The prices of the course may also have increased due to the fluctuations of the currency."
